Training
Down District Volunteer Centre have organised a training workshop for volunteer involving organisations The workshop will help you to develop new and appealing roles for volunteers, look at how to publicise for volunteers effectively and how to engage with the media. This training is free to organisations registered with the Volunteer Centre in Downpatrick.
Are you crying out for volunteers? Have you tried to get volunteers but can't seem to interest them in your work? Have you got too much work to do and not enough time? Perhaps volunteers can help to achieve objectives of your project. Consider your volunteering opportunities as a product you want to sell. Since the volunteer sector in Northern Ireland is very extensive, so are the volunteering opportunities to choose from. Volunteers have the opportunity to pick a placement that they find attractive, enjoyable and fun.
A workshop will be held on 25th March in Denvir's Hotel, Downpatrick. The workshop will help you to develop new and appealing roles for volunteers, look at how to publicise for volunteers effectively and how to engage with the media.
The workshop is organised as part of our Volunteer Managers Forum which is traditionally a platform for information sharing and a great opportunity to network with other voluntary organisations and community groups. The Forum is open and free of charge to all our registered community groups and charitable organisations. If you want more information or book a place, please contact Antje at the office or email antje@downdistrictvc.org.
